It was such a job assem...H: Thanks for the comment. It was such a job assembling all the images that I'm afraid that I might not have expressed my main idea very well. Giorgione died in 1510. What if Raphael or Titian had died in the same year? What we would say about them and their work? Does their work before 1510 tell us something about Giorgione? <br /><br />The formative years of all three artists occurred in the last decade of the 15th century, right after the pontificate of Sixtus IV. These iconographic elements will be very useful when completing the thematic entries for these works in my Raphael project. <br /><br />You may be curious to know some scholars treat the Prado Holy Family as a later copy of a c1504 original that is extant, but in a poorer state. It is presently in a private collection.
